Original Oil Painting "CARMEN" by Steamboat Springs artist Susan Gill Jackson OWN CARMEN! This original painting will be auctioned off by SEALED BID at 11 PM on August 19. Winner need not be present to win. This brilliant painting captures the mystique of the beautiful gypsy Carmen, who captured the hearts of so many would-be lovers. Bids may be submitted in advance by mail to Emerald City Opera, PO Box 775576, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477-5576, or delivered to the Emerald City Office at 320 Lincoln Av (downstairs in the Wells Fargo Bank building, suite H). Bids not deliverd by USPS on August 19 will not be considered. Include your complete name, address, telephone, and an email address if you have one. Bids may be submitted until 4 pm August 19 by telephone to our Board of Trustees Chairman at 970-846-4547. Please leave your bid and complete contact information. "CARMEN" is currently on display at the Artists' Gallery, 1009 Lincoln Av in Steamboat Springs.

This year the Emerald City Opera, in collaboration with the Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association and the Steamboat All-Arts Festival presents: Georges Bizet’s CARMEN, an Opera Concert Performance August 19, 2010 7PM at the Strings Music Pavilion Leading roles will be sung by New York Metropolitan Opera and internationally renowned professional artists including Jason Baldwin, Steven Goldstein, David Malis, Keith Miller, Keri Rusthoi, and featuring Sandra Piques Eddy as CARMEN in a full concert performance of the world’s most recognized opera. Then come to Three Peaks Grill for our annual Diva Gala immediately following the Opera performance. From 9:30 unitl Midnight you'll have the opportunity to meet with the performers and other opera supporters, and enjoy gourmet appetizers and wine.
